Le Super Bankal en configuration banc sur les bords du canal de l'Ourq

Cette année-là, Bellastock quitte l’éphémère pour rejoindre le temporaire. Le défi : nous faire construire du mobilier urbain qui restera après le festival annuel d’architecture expérimentale. Les collectifs VOUS et GRU s’associent pendant ces cinq jours ; ça donne VOUS x GRU.

Nous nous lançons dans la fabrication d’un banc qui pivote pour se transformer en table de pique-nique ! Travail du pivot, assemblages michto mi-bois. A quelques mètres de là, le collectif Construct-Lab réemploie des palissades tartinées de graffitis dans leur projet d’embarcadère. La toiture de notre Bankal reprend ce vocabulaire et pousse la forme jusqu’à une quadruple paraboloïde hyperbolique ajourée pour créer une ombrelle aérienne.

For its 10 years anniversary, Bellastock festival leaves the ephemeral to become temporary : architecture and design students are invited to conceive and craft street furniture that will stay the whole summer in the Parc de la Bergère, north of Paris. Our team of 6 designed a bench / table featuring a mobile part, that must therefore resist to the roughness of urban practices. Wooden halved joints and subtle welded arms make a welcoming table along the Ourcq Canal. The Table can fold into a bench in a jiffy. A soaring roof of reclaimed planks, shaped as four hyperbolic paraboloids respond to the nearby Constructlab Collectiv nearby. The name Banc-Cal relates to an indian word associated with chill and procrastination translated as "tomorrow-bench".
VOUS enjoyed working with GRU, another collectiv of Nantes, as part of the team. Every year 4 days of effervescence go along in the Bellastock http://www.bellastock.com/
